Four Steps to Healthier, Wealthier Employees

Mar 27, 2015 4:45:29 PM

If someone told you that staying healthy could make you wealthy, would you focus more on wellness? Well, that is exactly what Keller Williams is doing and raising the bar for employee wellness.

In 2014, Keller Williams was named one of the Principal Financial Group's 10 Best Companies for Employee Financial Security because of the company’s impressive commitment to employee financial and physical wellness. Among the key best practices the Principal Financial Group found among winning companies was "offering employees benefits, tools and resources to help them achieve health wellness."

Hundreds of studies conducted on the benefits of corporate wellness programs have shown that corporate wellness is not only good for employees, it is good for business’ bottom lines.

The consensus of these studies is that in order for corporate wellness programs to be effective, they have to be well-planned. Keller Williams understands this and works hard to empower associates around the world to adopt workplace wellness programs which result in healthier and wealthier employees.

  1. Providing Access to Health Care: KW was the first real estate franchise to offer a full health care exchange for all associates

The Institute for HealthCare Consumerism (IHC) recognized Keller Williams with its 2014 Most Effective Private Exchange Implementation Award. Traditional group health care can be difficult for real estate professionals to secure due to the structure and employment classification. Not for Keller Williams associates! In 2013, Keller Williams, as part of the KW Wellness program, became the first real estate franchise company to offer a full health care exchange for all associates. Thousands of KW associates have explored the options available through the KW Wellness Benefits Marketplace.

  1. Getting Your Team Involved: KW has Wellness Ambassadors around the world

Not only does Keller Williams pride itself on being the #1 real estate franchise in the world by agent count and the #1 training organization across all industries in the world, Keller Williams is also proud to be one of the healthiest companies. The Austin Business Journal named Keller Williams one of Austin’s Healthiest Employers.

KW associates can apply to be a Wellness Ambassador for their market center. Wellness Ambassadors bring wellness education and opportunities to their market center as directed by the KWRI Wellness Manager and help coordinate local wellness events in their community. The next worldwide wellness event coming up is KW Wellness Day.

  1. Participating in Fun Activities that Promote Wellness

KW Wellness Day 2015 is April 10th

Wellness Day is KW’s annual day of commitment to wellness. On Wellness Day, market centers organize wellness events in their community and encourage associates to commit to health and wellness. To get into the team spirit, associates can order KW Wellness T-shirts through myKW. You can download a colorful flyer for ideas on what associates can do for Wellness Day in their area.

Community Wellness – Red Rally

Every year, Keller Williams market centers around the world host events for their communities. Red Rally was founded out of the KW mission to build careers worth having, businesses worth owning and lives worth living. Community wellness events bring communities together for activities like fun walk/run events that not only benefit the health of participants, but also benefit a local charity. Read about what KWRI did for Red Rally 2014.

The bottom line is that wellness works for you and your company in many ways beyond physical health.
