On the first day of Family Reunion 2016, top agents under the age of 40 and Keller Williams executives participated in the Keller Williams Young Professionals (KWYP) second annual retreat in New Orleans. The morning event included panels on productivity, growth and professional development. It also featured an exclusive conversation with Keller Williams Realty CEO Chris Heller.
Tony DiCello introduced the first panel of the event, featuring Aaron Armstrong of Nashville, Tenn., Chris Suarez of Portland, Ore., and Matt Patulski of Austin, Texas. The three young professionals shared the secrets to their success on the panel titled “Million Dollar Plus.” The common theme shared by all panelists was consistency. Consistency is the key for both personal and business development. Following the models and systems laid out in The Millionaire Real Estate Agent, each of these young men has failed their way forward and grown beyond their own expectations. “Commit and don’t be afraid of failure,” Armstrong said.
Continuing on the topic of growth and development, Dianna Kokoszka, CEO of KW MAPS Coaching, posed the question, “Are you willing to change?” “When you change, your life will change,” she concluded. This uplifting presentation set the tone for being intentional about learning and networking not only at the event, but all the time.
Vice Chairman of the Board Mo Anderson brought four agents to the stage who all shared something in common – profit share. After attending a webinar with KWYP members earlier this year, Anderson discussed the importance of profit share and building a downline, and she challenged attendees to go out and act on that. Four agents answered the call. Lisa Archer of Charlotte, N.C., Angela Thompson of Pinehurst, N.C., Kymber Menkiti of Washington D.C., and Seth Couillard of Bloomington Ill. all immediately went out with the intention of building their profit share tree after the webinar. Each used different tactics from inviting recruits to Family Reunion to reaching out through email or hosting a career night. But they all took Anderson’s words to heart and realized the importance of building passive income for them and their families to enjoy.
Next, KWYP members got an exclusive glimpse into the life of Keller Williams Realty CEO Chris Heller as he shared his story about his real estate career. Heller worked his way up from the time he got his real estate license in college to 33 years later when he became CEO. This is what Heller wants to see from KWYP members: he wants to see them grow into the future leadership of the company. How? By getting great results and making sure they walk the walk.
The morning ended with another powerful panel led by Holly Priestner, director of talent acquisition and KWYP. Top agents under 40, Kirsten Williams of Austin, Texas, Kymber Menkiti of Washington D.C., and Rosalyn Luna of Chesterfield, Mo. shared their tactics for never ending referrals. Williams, a master at engaging with her database, implements 33 Touch campaigns and pays close attention to Gary Keller’s words, “Your success is tied to the number of people who think of you when they think of real estate.”
Menkiti uses farming tactics to build her sphere while Luna plans strategically for the connections made at events and focuses on quality rather than quantity. These three young women have mastered their referral strategy and realize the importance of consistently growing and nurturing those relationships.
