KWYP
Keller Williams Young Professionals (KWYP) kicked off their third annual members-only retreat at Family Reunion with a heartwarming and motivational message from none other than Mo Anderson, vice chairman of the board.
The Cultural Path to Leadership
Anderson shared five milestones on the cultural path to leadership:
- Learn to lead yourself
- Set personal standards above what others require
- Know and live the culture
- Let go of ego
- Be a servant leader
One of the best examples of knowing and living the KW culture is the act of giving and supporting associates through KW Cares. In a live auction held at the retreat today, KWYP members raised more than $22,000 for the 501(c)(3) public charity created to support Keller Williams associates and their families with hardship as a result of a sudden emergency.
The event continued with various speakers who shared wisdom on leadership.
The Five Levels of Leadership
Another way to look at the path to leadership is the five levels of leadership shared by Georgia Alpizar, regional director of Florida- North. Those levels include:
Position
Permission
Production
People Development
Pinnacle
“You need to understand that you can have anything in this company if you follow the model and become what KW truly is – abundance and opportunity,” said Alpizar.
Learning from Leaders
An amazing opportunity for KWYP members is the ability to learn directly from KW executives. At the retreat, members heard from CEO of KW MAPS Coaching Dianna Kokoszka, VP of Industry Development Cary Sylvester, and Keller Williams CEO Chris Heller. Heller left the young professionals with many astounding takeaways including:
- Eliminate the option called failure
- Your ego will both ruin your business and keep you from doing what you need to do
- Negative thinking is always more powerful than positive thinking; focus on eliminating the negative
- We have to remove the drama around us
- Remember that thinking big is a learned process
- Spend less time comparing yourself with others; the only competition is what’s in the mirror
The Secret to Success
The retreat wrapped up with a number of mega agent young professionals who shared their secrets to success. Jerimiah Taylor, team leader of Carmel Valley/Del Mar, presented the Keller Williams Opportunity Map.
Cody Gibson, operating principal at Portland Central, discussed tips for getting listings.
And lastly, a power-packed panel with KW associates Lisa Archer, Rachel Adams, Chris Suarez, Haro Setian, and Tiffany Fykes answered questions from the audience on how they reach out to their spheres, lead generation tactics, open houses, sign calls, farming, and more.
KWYP members left the event energized and equipped with the tools and mindset for growing their leadership skills as well as their businesses.
