Family Reunion 2016 kicked off today in New Orleans and the social media channels are already buzzing. Are you part of the conversation? Here are a few quick and easy ways that you can join us online.
- Capture quotes! With more than 200 breakout sessions, as well as the general session events, you are sure to hear some great quotes and tidbits of information. Share it online using #KWFR. Don’t forget to attribute the quote back to the person who said it and link to their social media handle.
- Provide as much context within one tweet as possible. This can be challenging with only 140 characters. Some tweets will be best understood when coupled together, but when possible try to craft messages that can stand alone.
- Tag other people and @KWRI. Include any relevant speaker handles in your posts as well. Most panelists who use social media will have their social handles on their slides during a presentation.
- Include #KWFR in tweets, Instagram posts and Facebook posts. If a tweet is too long, rework it to ensure the #KWFR can be included. It’s important to have this hashtag in all communications to ensure those following the #KWFR hashtag can be a part of the conversation!
- It’s important to be timely and accurate when tweeting. While you should be paying attention during sessions and taking notes, real-time messages are powerful. If you don’t want to post during a presentation, do so immediately after. Also, be sure to post only accurate information. Misinformation spreads quickly.
- The key to social is being social! Interact with other users, comment on posts and tag others in content you think will be informative to them.
Start posting and you just might find yourself on the #KWFR social media wall.
